April Numbers

Our official April waiting list number is:
I usually only talk about our number on the boys list because sibling referrals are not very common, we are number 24 for siblings. We would love for God to bless us with two precious kiddos, but we are planning for one and will be happily surprised if its more!

As I've mentioned before, the numbers aren't something to really plan by or rely on. Our parameters are rather open and our referral could come at any time... or we could be waiting for a lot longer. The numbers are just a nice way to see progress and celebrate children being united with their forever families.

Our Weekend of Love and Learning

This past weekend we had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Empowered to Connect conference in Denver. If you EVER have the opportunity to hear Dr. Purvis speak... do it! Her talks are not only helpful for adoptive parents, but all families. I wish that all of my friends and family could hear what we did.

There was so much hope in what she shared. Any child from a hard place can heal. I studied child development and behavioral science in college; it was so amazing to see the scientific facts that reflected God's design. There are so many things I could say about the conference but I will focus on these:
*We were so encouraged and learned so much
*GO if you get a chance
After the conference we had a nice mini vacation. It is funny how just being out of the house and away from distractions can be such a blessing. I enjoyed coffee, reading, coffee, journaling, coffee, discussion with Dave, coffee, and strolling through beautiful downtown Denver with coffee.

Sunday's are my favorite

I love Sunday's for these reasons:
I get to sleep in a little.
David goes to church early to do the sound board for the band and when I am not singing... I take myself on a date to the Starbucks next door (today a friend joined me!)
Church is always a blessing.
After church I get to *socialize*
When the weather is nice we try to spend part of the afternoon in the beauty of Colorado
Precious time with my husband.
and... Naps!
We went downtown for today's afternoon adventure. The weather started out gorgeous so we walked past most of the stores and browsed just a few.

Then, we went to Poor Richard's one of my favorite local spots in town. It is four businesses all connected; a used bookstore, Pizza place, coffee bar, and adorable toy store.

Here I am reading books in the kids corner.

David and I picked a few for Jude. Eric Carle was always one of my childhood favorites.

The beautiful weather was quickly turning nasty.

The wind picked up and whipped sand and dirt at us.
With dirt in our smiles we arrived at Chipotle for a delicious veggie bowl.
